How do you make cannabis tinctures?

Written by on 16 July, 2020

Cannabis tinctures have become a perfect alternative for users who love the psychoactive effects of marijuana but prefer not to smoke or vaporize it.

This method of use produces effects that are very similar to those of food, and likewise, they take longer to manifest and are stronger than when smoked.

The ideal is to consume a single drop of the tincture, and little by little as you observe the effects it produces and your body’s tolerance, you can increase the dose to two or three drops, it all depends on you.

Learning to make your own tincture will always be a great help, especially for those users with medicinal purposes who seek to relieve some pain. If you are interested in knowing how to prepare it, here we indicate how to do it.

What you will need

1- 50 grams of marijuana buds.

2- 1 liter of an alcoholic beverage of more than 40 degrees.

3- A large jar or bottle.

4- Funnel.

5- Coffee cloth or filter.

6- Dripper.

Steps

1- To carry out the elaboration of your tincture, it is necessary to decarboxylate your cannabis. To do this, you must place the marijuana in the oven for about 30 minutes at 115º, in this way you will activate the psychoactive properties of the plant.

2- Once you have decarboxylated your cannabis, you must place the marijuana in the jar you have, and then add the alcoholic beverage until it covers the plant, close the jar and shake it.

3- Store the jar in a cool, dark place (a closet might be a good place) for a month, and shake the jar a little once a week, gently.

4- After a month, open the jar and leave it open for a week to allow the alcohol to evaporate. Then, with the help of a funnel and a cloth or coffee filter, separate the liquid from the vegetable matter. Then place the liquid in a dropper and you will have your dye. It’s easy!
