If you have been growing your cannabis for a short time, it is likely that you still have many doubts about how to do it properly. Therefore, in this post, we will talk to you about some things that every beginner grower should know.

It is important that before starting your grow, you plan and take precautions to avoid inconveniences.

1- The seeds must be stored in a suitable place

Lighting is a fundamental aspect of the development of cannabis strains. However, when it comes to storing weed seeds, this factor should be avoided.

That’s right, to store your marijuana seeds and make sure they last much longer, it is recommended that you avoid exposing them to light, store them in a dry, cool, and dark place.

2- The light spectrum for the vegetative and flowering stages is different

Cannabis strains during the vegetative and flowering stages require different light spectra for each phase.

Generally, in the growth stage, it is recommended to use lamps that emit blue light to favor the development of healthy leaves and strong stems. While, in the flowering phase, lights with the red light spectrum are recommended to promote the formation of buds.

3- Not all strains do not get along well with pruning or training

Photodependent marijuana strains are ideal to carry out training or pruning techniques, as they are more tolerant than an auto-flowering strain as they have time to recover from the stress of training. The auto’s only responding well to the LST technique.

4- Autoflowering strains grow under the same light cycle

Autoflowering cannabis strains do not need changes in the light cycle to start flowering, because they do it automatically and the whole life cycle of the plant is done under the same photoperiod, usually, an 18/6 cycle is used (18 hours of light, 6 hours of darkness).
