How many cannabis plants to put per bulb? Well, this is a question that many indoor cannabis growers have and that has probably crossed your mind too.
The answer to the question really depends on several factors, such as the type of strain chosen, whether it starts from seed or cuttings, the type of bulb used and its power, among others.
Knowing how many cannabis plants should be placed per bulb is not only essential for a good production but also to optimize resources. Stay tuned, we will give you more details on the subject.
Planting seeds is not the same as planting cuttings. If you start your growing from seeds, it is ideal that you know well the genetics you have chosen.
If the variety of marijuana that you are going to plant is characterized by being branched, it is best to put 4 plants per bulb per square meter. This way, when they start to grow, they will not get in each other’s way.
If, on the other hand, the strain you are going to plant is less branched, you could choose to place more plants. Some growers recommend 9 plants per bulb per square meter to make good use of space.
If you use cuttings
Many growers claim that by using cuttings we can place more plants per square meter. If you make a SOG with three-liter pots, you could put 36 plants per bulb per square meter. Make sure that their production is on the main stem, if they are more branched, you will have to reduce the number of plants. With a 600w bulb, you could get up to 500 grams of buds.
How many auto is to place per bulb?
If you want to get a quick harvest of Mary Jane, the best option is to choose autoflowering seeds.
With the fastest auto seeds (2 months) some growers recommend to plant around 9 cannabis flowers per bulb, with a 600w bulb you could get up to 400grs.
The 3 months autos on the other hand will be a bit bigger, so you will have to reduce the number of plants to 4 per bulb.
As you know, indoors the bulbs replace the sunlight that your flowers need to develop, that’s why you must make sure that they produce the heat they need, but without being excessive.
