Common mistakes when growing cannabis in aeroponics

Written by on 25 February, 2021

As you may know, aeroponics is a growing method that does not use substrate; instead, it involves suspending the roots of cannabis plants in the air. Nutrients and water are applied to the roots through spraying.

Well, with aeroponic growing, you can get great results, but if you don’t have enough experience, there are certain mistakes you can make, which you might regret sooner or later.

Don’t worry, here are the most common mistakes in aeroponic systems so you can avoid making the same mistakes.

1. Not monitoring constantly

Not constantly, monitoring and keeping an eye on your plants is usually one of the main mistakes that cannabis growers make. It is ideal that you not only pay attention to the state of your girls, but also to the setup itself, so you can act in case of any setbacks.

Monitoring your entire aeroponic system is the most basic thing you will need to do to achieve a successful harvest.

2. Not making sure there is enough light

As in all types of growing, lighting is a fundamental element for the development of cannabis strains, and of course, in aeroponic systems the situation does not change.

It is ideal that you choose the right lighting for your aeroponic growing, which should be of very good quality. Some growers recommend the use of CFL or LED lights.

3- Not cleaning properly

Just as when you grow your cannabis on land you should keep the environment as clean as possible to avoid diseases and pests, you should do the same with your aeroponic setup.

This point is extremely important because in aeroponics the health of the plants can be affected very quickly; remember that the roots are directly exposed to the environment.
