Indoor growing cabinets are an excellent tool for growing marijuana, but how do you grow it in cabinets? Here are some tips.

1) Lighting

Lighting is essential in the growth of cannabis, so you must use the right type and potency (depending on the period in which the plant is), and know the time when it should last on or off.

For growing, some people indicate that the lights should be placed between 50 and 60 cms from the plants (with 600 watt sodium lamps) or at least 35/40 cms (with 400 watt sodium lamps). In addition, as the plant grows, they should be raised, making sure to keep that same distance from the tips of the marijuana.

There are different models of specific lights on the market, such as HPS and HM bulbs, LED equipment, CFL and fluorescents, among others, so you have different alternatives that can be adapted to your needs.

2) Ventilation and extractor

Ventilation and air renewal is very relevant. Try to ensure that the fan is always switched on, while, the light is on. Anyway, the time in which it should remain connected or not, varies greatly according to the period in which the plant is and other factors such as temperature and humidity.

As for the ventilation, it will allow to remove the air inside the growing cabinet that will avoid the formation of hot or cold air bags, and will provide multiple benefits to the cannabis.

3) Temperature and humidity

These factors must be constantly monitored. The ideal temperature is between 20 and 28ºC, but it should not exceed 31ºC maximum temperature, nor be below 17ºC minimum temperature.

In addition, the hygrometry (relative humidity of the air) should normally be between 40 and 60 %. E, and likewise, it should not be allowed to exceed 75% maximum, nor be less than 30%.  Remember that humidity causes fungus to appear.

4) Watering and fertilizing

Once you have made sure you have got the lighting right and, of course, controlled other factors, you are ready to start growing your cannabis in the cupboard.

The first thing you need to do is choose the variety you want to plant, and then determine how you are going to feed it. There are various growing media such as hydroponics, from soil or coconut fibre, and depending on each one, you can determine the right type of fertilizer.

In soil growing, once the transplant has been made, the cannabis seedlings and cuttings need a lot of watering, but keep in mind that to water again, it is wise to expect the substrate to lose almost all the moisture.

As with the other factors, the regularity of watering varies according to the stage the cannabis is going through.

With regard to fertilizer, it is advisable to fertilize every second watering when it comes to plantations where substrate is available. In this sense, at the first water and then, water and fertilize the next time.

On the other hand, if it is coconut fiber or hydroponic systems fertilize every watering (pH 5.5-6) and try to make the fertilizers according to the dosage and tables recommended by the manufacturer.

5) Avoids plagues

Prevention is undoubtedly a fundamental element to avoid the appearance of pests and undesirable agents; therefore, it is important that you make a plan, in order to control what happens in your growing.

Regularly check your plants and pay a lot of attention to their development, this way you will detect any irregularity.
