During the month of October, recreational marijuana sales in New Mexico broke records after surpassing $25 million, according to data from the state’s Cannabis Control Division (CCD). This is the first time New Mexico has reached that figure since the adult-use market was launched in April of this year.

Medical marijuana sales, meanwhile, experienced a decline, falling to $14.7 million. Overall, sales for both medical and adult-use last month were $39.8 million.

New online portal

A new online portal began operating a few days ago, a site where cannabis users in addition to learning about marijuana sales data, will also be able to find information about New Mexico’s cannabis industry, such as knowing the number of licensed dispensaries operating in the state.

“A few months ago, CCD saw an opportunity to provide more information about New Mexico’s cannabis industry through a data portal similar to other states,” said Bernice Geiger, spokeswoman for the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department, High Times reported.
