Pearlite is an inert substance, which is generated naturally, like a volcanic glass that when exposed to high temperatures expands considerably. The result is a substance similar in appearance to popcorn.
Once the production process is completed, perlite is ready for commercialization. Generally, in the market you can find it in three types: thick medium and fine, this last one is the one that is usually used in the cannabis plantations.
Why is it used in the marijuana growing?
The pearlite is a means of culture (light and of white color), very common in the hydroponic cultures, that many growers, generally, use like a habitual ingredient, in other means of culture of marijuana, because in most of the cases, it is mixed with earth or fiber of coconut.
As we have mentioned before, pearlite is widely used in marijuana plantations and this is due in part to its drainage capacity and adequate aeration, among others.
This medium will help boost the growth of marijuana by providing a variety of benefits. Pearlite is also recommended for cuttings.
