If you are just starting in the world of cannabis growing, perhaps you think that your work will end at the stage of harvesting, but it is not, there are several important steps to take into account later, such as manicuring, drying and curing your marijuana, precisely the latter we will talk about in this post.
The curing process requires patience, an activity that can take some weeks, but the wait is worth it, because if you do it properly, it can really make the difference between a good and an excellent marijuana.
Reasons why you should perform cannabis curing
The cure of cannabis can bring you several advantages; one of them is that it will make your buds produce a soft and delicious smoke, instead of rough.
When you cure your buds, you will also be able to preserve their exquisite flavors and contribute to increasing their psychoactive power, although for this, it is also ideal that the process of manicured and dried has been carried out correctly.
In addition, curing will also extend their shelf life and your buds are less likely to develop mold when stored well.
How to cure your marijuana?
Once you have manicured and dried your cannabis, it is time to proceed with the healing of your marijuana. To begin this process, you will need a few airtight glass jars. Then follow the next steps:
The first thing is to place your dried buds in the airtight jars, but without filling them or squeezing them too much so that there is space for when you have to shake and move the contents from time to time.
Then close the jar, and open it once a week to let the air renew for 10 minutes. Check your buds by sniffing them a little; if you don’t detect an unpleasant smell or a mold symptom, you’re on the right track.
Finally, repeat the previous step for another three weeks, until you reach the month of cure. In addition, that’s it, you’ll see the fruits of your efforts.
It is ideal that you keep your bottles in a dry and dark place like a closet or room, since light can cause THC degradation, in addition, the temperature should be approximately 21°C, while the relative humidity should be between 55 and 65%, and you can measure it with the help of a hygrometer.
